About Us

History Confronted is an initiative designed to give you the tools you need to move our society towards a norm of diversity and inclusion. This database will guide you to the resources you need to design your own initiative. Each week has a different focus (Humanities, STEM, Arts & Entertainment, and Hometown Heroes) to provide a wide range of contributors to true American history, both past and contemporary.

The murder of George Floyd ignited a hunger for an understanding of the past of the United States of America, the conception of the birth of unrest and change we are witnessing today. Educators of all kinds began asking what they could do to help usher in a better future for all Americans, thus, History Confronted was born. The founder, Jasmine Cochran, created this user-friendly resource to help anyone who is ready to move towards anti-racism in their communities easily pinpoint information to implement in their own educational spaces.
